AddThis's (old) Trending Content Widget Code
Wednesday August 20th, 2014 by Weebly Tricks
AddThis is probably the most popular name in terms of sharing website content. It has a large array of tools for web designers to add to their website or blog in order to increase content sharing, and ultimately add more traffic.
However, AddThis recently revamped their sharing product catalog, and in doing so, they took away their famous "Trending" widget's code.
This widget, depending on the attributes you changed in the code, would show a website's most clicked, most shared, or top trending content for either the day, the week, or the month.
Not to worry though, as Weebly Tricks has not only preserved this code and made it available for use below, but you can see that it's an active part of Weebly Trick's sidebar.
<!-- AddThis Trending Content BEGIN -->
feed_title : "Trending Now",
feed_type : "trending",
feed_period : "day",
num_links : 5,
height : "auto",
width : "auto"});
<!-- AddThis Trending Content END -->
Now all you need to do is place your AddThis ID in the orange area. You'll need to log into your AddThis account, and you'll need to find coding for any of their modern widgets. Your AddThis ID code will be attached to one of them.
The attributes in green can be customized as followed:
- feed_title: This will display the title of your widget.
- feed_type: This will display what is trending, most clicked, or most shared. Use attributes"trending" "shared" or "clicked"
- feed_period: This will define the duration for the attribute above. Use "day" "week" or "month".
- num_link: This is the number of links you wish the widget to display.
