Disqus's "Recent Comments" Code
Wednesday July 7, 2014 by Weebly Tricks
Disqus, the famous embeddable commenting software for websites, used to have a code for their users to place on their website that would display the most recent comments for the Disqus software embedded on that website.
The code itself would display the user's avatar, their name, their comment, what page they commented on, and how long ago they commented on that page.
While Disqus no longer provides that code, the code still works and Weebly Tricks has it and will preserve it for those who still enjoy it. Here is the code:
<div id="recentcomments" ><script src="http://Put your Disqus name here.disqus.com/recent_comments_widget.js?num_items=5&hide_avatars=0&avatar_size=32&excerpt_length=200"></script></div>
All you need to do is place your Disqus name in the green area. The code will then immediately pull all of the most recent comments on your website.
You can change the number of comments displayed by changing the number in orange.
