This tutorial will show you how to create a simple checkbox captcha that you can add to the contact form of your Weebly site. The checkbox captcha will help keep spam from inundating your inbox.
Note: This is not a genuine captcha tool. Real captcha tools use other facets to prevent spam such as mouse movement and reasoning, but some Weebly users have found this technique useful to cut down on spam.
Step 1. Drag & drop the "contact form" element
From the left, grab the "Contact Form" element and add it to your page to create your contact form.
Step 2. Drag & drop the "Checkbox" element
Click on your form to activate it for editing. On the left, grab the "Checkboxes" element and drag & drop it at the bottom of your contact form.
Step 3. Add "Captcha" label
Click on the "Checkboxes" element you just added to the contact form and change the "FIELD TITLE" to the text "Captcha".
Step 4. Remove futile Option Items
Click on "Option Items>Edit", and then remove every default option item except one. Click "Done".
Step 5. Add "I am not a robot" label
Change the text of the remaining option item to "I am not a robot".
Step 6. Activate "Required" field [if need to]
The most important step to make this whole process work is to make sure the "Required" field is activated. Most contact form elements are active by default, but if not, simply turn it on.
You're done! Publish your site to activate your new captcha!
